one again, my body is struggling
to get up & walk, lay down & sleep.
to eat, digest & assimilate.
instead, my stools are bleeding.
instead, my heart is palpitating.
markers of old stories. of oppression
as a girl, then as a woman & now
as a disabled non-binary queer person.
just because I don’t conform
to the patriarchal binary
when I am who I am.
